When I was in my teens and twenty’s staying up 49 hours would have been a piece of cake, a cake walk, a walk in the park or whatever cliché you can think of.
Being in semi physical shape as I exercise 4-5 times a week, at 45 years of age, this was very difficult, or was it more difficult due to I still had family responsibilities I had to attend to along with the 33 hours or marketing online that I was able to accomplish.
I took on the challenge of marketing online for 48 hours straight starting Friday 6/6/08 8 PM – Sunday 6/8/08 8 PM.
See my quest began on 6/6/08 at 5 AM when I started my day, after working 8 hours I was not really in any mood to marketing 48 hours.
There was the kick off call at 8. Grrrr, I started doing what I normally do through the week and compressed it into 2 days. I created 2 videos, wrote some blogs, posted to free and paid advertising sites, I broadcasted live each 2 hours to keep myself honest and let others know on various sites I was live.
Once I got started, I became focused around 1 am on Saturday. I’m not sure if I was able to stay up due to all the storms in the Indianapolis area, but I kept 1 eye on the computer while I had the other on the weather radar to insure no tornados decided to pay me a visit.
Around the 4 am hour on Saturday became very difficult, so I decided to shower, shave and get refreshed. This really helped; I mean it was not like I needed to a shower or anything, but just to wake up, as did the liquid B-Complex I was taking every few hours and the AMP energy drink (no plug for AMP).
Saturday was easy as I broadcasted live on my ustream.tv account a few times with the help of my 3 year old daughter Alexis. She loves seeing herself on camera.
Moving into the evening hours I seemed to catch my 2nd wind, I showered again, shaved and decided to create a video for my FOCS website capture page. The previous video on there was all about FOCS and nothing about me. I decided this video would give a little history of my accomplishments since joining the US Air Force till today. Check the video out if you can.
After making the video, I seemed to go down hill around 4 am, I started loosing my focus on the tasks at hand, then the numbness in the body started to kick in and the blurred vision followed along with a massive headache. I decided to throw in the towel at 6 am on Sunday and I have ne regrets of not being able to stay up as planned for 63 hours when the completion call was scheduled on Sunday 6/8/08 at 8 pm.
Well there you go, I think I did pretty darn good staying up 49 hours straight being 45. What do you think?
Do you have any stories of staying up for more than 24 hours? If so, leave me a comment.
Devin

I have decided to partake in a 48 hour furyous marketing frenzy. Is this crazy on my part, or a brilliant idea?
With 39 hours to go, it is still to early to tell.
So far I have created 2 video and posted to www.socialmarker.com on the majority of the book marker sites.
I have also created a blog for cre8Buzz.com, Click here

How many people eat oatmeal for breakfast? Either you love it or hate it, there is no middle of the road.
Let me tell you what I do each day, and how I like my oatmeal.
Each morning I grab a packet, sometimes two packets out of the pantry, BUT it has to be a low sugar variety.
I do not follow directions on the oatmeal packet, I mean common who in the heck is going to tell me the way I should like my oatmeal anyways.
I personally like mine where you can drink it from a cup, watered down! I seem to be more busy these days, so really who has time to sit down and eat thick bowl of oatmeal?
Oops, I forgot to mention, scrap the milk, add only hot water, let cool put a scoop of whey vanilla protein in it and drink Yummy!
And my 3 year old has to have her oatmeal each morning, but hers is more on the thicker side.
So anyhow, how do you eat your oatmeal, thick or thin?
